چکیده

Microwave temperature sounding observations from polar-orbiting meteorological satellites have been widely used for research on climate trends of atmospheric at different heights around the world. Taking Amazon rainforest as target area, this study combined Temperature Sounder-2 (MWTS-2) data onboard Chinese FengYun-3D (FY-3D) satellite with Advanced Sounding unit-A (AMSU-A) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) European Meteorological Operational (MetOp) (i.e., NOAA-15, −18, −19, MetOp-A, -B). The double difference method was to estimate thus eliminate inter-sensor bias, a decadal diurnal correction reduce impact local equator crossing times trends. “no-rain” conditions were determined AMSU-A by channels 1 15, MWTS-2 7. Finally, linear 1998 2020 obtained after applying bias calibration inter-decadal −19; -B; FY-3D. A warming trend found in window tropospheric (1–9 15) cooling stratospheric (10–14). (cooling) 7–9 (10) relatively small. 1–6 (14–15) significantly reduced correction.

Study on Geometric Correction for FY-2 S-VISSR Data

FY-2 is the first generation of Chinese geostationary meteorological satellite. This paper proposes a simple and effective geometric correction method for FY-2 S-VISSR data. In this method, FY-2 normalized projective latitude and longitude comparison table (NPLLCT) is used as the reference image; FY-2 S-VISRR data is used as the input image. Firstly, 25×25 line-pixel coordinates of the input im...

Dependence of Atmospheric Temperature Trends : Climate Models vs Observation

As a consequence of greenhouse forcing, all state-of-the-art general circulation models predict a positive temperature trend that is greater for the troposphere than the surface. This predicted positive trend increases in value with altitude until it reaches a maximum ratio with respect to the surface of as much as 1.5 to 2.0 at about 200-400 hPa. However, the temperature trends from several in...

A decadal microwave record of tropical air temperature from AMSU-A/aqua observations

Atmospheric temperature is one of the most important climate variables. This observational study presents detailed descriptions of the temperature variability imprinted in the 9-year brightness temperature data acquired by the Advanced Microwave Sounding UnitInstrument A (AMSU-A) aboard Aqua since September 2002 over tropical oceans. A non-linear, adaptive method called the Ensemble Joint Multi...

Atmospheric Correction Inter-Comparison Exercise

The Atmospheric Correction Inter-comparison eXercise (ACIX) is an international initiative with the aim to analyse the Surface Reflectance (SR) products of various state-of-the-art atmospheric correction (AC) processors. The Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) and Water Vapour (WV) are also examined in ACIX as additional outputs of AC processing. In this paper, the general ACIX framework is discuss...

Decadal trends in the diurnal variation of galactic cosmic rays observed using neutron monitor data

The diurnal variation (DV) in galactic cosmic ray (GCR) flux is a widely observed phenomenon in neutron monitor data. The background variation considered primarily in this study is due to the balance between the convection of energetic particles away from the Sun and the inward diffusion of energetic particles along magnetic field lines. However, there are also times of enhanced DV following ge...
